The Johnson Bar lifting tool was first used in Egypt, and that design is still being used today due to its remarkable lifting ability. To our knowledge, the San Francisco Fire Department was the first to bring this technology to the fire service. Our Johnson Bars are hand-made with pride by firefighters from Redwood City, CA.
